KPK Asked to Provide Legal Certainty in e-KTP and Medical Devices Cases

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has been asked to provide legal certainty regarding the alleged e-KTP and medical device corruption cases. Certainty regarding the two cases is awaited, because it is suspected of involving candidates competing in the 2024 Pilkada.

“This is our demand and we will come again with a larger number,” said the Head of the Jakarta Anti-Corruption Community Petition (PMJAK) Hasan Assegaf, in a statement quoted on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

This was revealed by Hasan during a demonstration in front of the KPK Building, Friday, November 15, 2024. According to him, the KPK’s commitment is needed to investigate this case, because there is involvement from parties competing in the 2024 Pilkada.

“To obtain legal certainty,” said Hasan.

His party has sent a letter to the KPK on November 6, 2024. However, the KPK has not yet provided an answer regarding the scandal.

Hasan asked the KPK to provide legal certainty, as a form of transparency to the public. Hasan does not want expensive democracy to produce leadership with bad backgrounds, especially corrupt behavior.

“The people pay for the expensive costs of democracy, but then it produces figures who have legal problems,” he said.
