Former governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and his family exercised their voting rights in the Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election. They cast their votes at polling station 29 located around Masjid Babul Khoirot, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.
According to Liputan6.com, on Wednesday (27/11/2024), Anies Baswedan completed casting his vote around 07:40 WIB.
“We hope that all residents of Jakarta, and all of Indonesia, will take this opportunity to determine the leadership of the government and local government that can bring progress, happiness, and hopefully change in our respective regions,” Anies said.
It is known that Anies officially gave his support to the Jakarta gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates number 3, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno. He stated that his choice to support Pramono Anung as the Governor of Jakarta was not made lightly.
Anies stated that he supports Pramono because he knows the man from Kediri. Anies said that he has also worked with Pramono for 30 years.
“We understand that Jakarta needs a governor who is firm yet stable, calm.” And that’s the combination that is needed. A governor whose statements unite. Can communicate with everyone, all circles, so he can protect everyone. “That’s what I see in Mas Pram,” Anies said after a walkabout with Pramono in Kapuk, Jakarta, Friday (22/11/2024).
Anies is also grateful because in his first 100 days program, Pramono Anung will address the fundamental issues faced by the people of Jakarta. Thus, the lower-class society of Jakarta will once again feel like they are the focus and top priority.
“I am glad that Mas Pram has identified urgent matters, important matters that need to be prioritized, and that is what makes me grateful,” said Anies.
