Jakarta gubernatorial candidate number 1, Ridwan Kamil (RK), along with his wife, Atalia Praratya, headed to the residence of Ridwan Kamil’s mother, Tjutju Sukaesih, in Bandung, West Java. Their visit was to ask for blessings and prayers before returning to Jakarta.
Tjutju Sukaesih, who is 85 years old, is a figure highly admired and respected by Ridwan Kamil. The former Governor of West Java performed a traditional gesture of respect to his mother and had a warm conversation for about an hour. “It’s done, everything is settled, I met with Mother, and her message was the same.” “And my mother prayed for the best, especially for the people of Jakarta,” said Ridwan Kamil.
After paying respects to his mother, Ridwan Kamil and Atalia Praratya returned to Jakarta using the Whoosh high-speed train. He will monitor the quick count results of the Jakarta Pilkada with the winning team at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta.
“Meet at Hotel Sultan, we’ll see the quick count, okay? See you in Jakarta,” he said.
Ridwan Kamil previously cast his vote at polling station 23 located on Jalan Rancabulan II, Ciumbuleuit, Kecamatan Cidadap, Kota Bandung, West Java. The polling station is approximately 150 meters from their residence.
He arrived at the polling station around 11:18 AM WIB. He and his wife exercised their voting rights for the regional head candidates in the West Java gubernatorial election. He hopes that the winning candidate in West Java can continue the policies in the region.
“Hopefully, the one who is elected will continue the achievements and good things from when I was leading West Java,” he said.
However, the former Governor of West Java also left a message for the future elected governor to improve the programs that were lacking in West Java during his leadership. The condition is that these programs must be beneficial for the people of West Java.
“Please improve what is lacking, because that is the leadership we need, which is continuous with previous programs and perfecting them with concepts that fit the context of the next five years,” said Ridwan Kamil.
