Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, assured that Indonesia’s food supply, particularly rice, is secure ahead of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025. (Nataru).
He revealed that the rice stock from Perum Bulog reached 2 million tons, while the amount circulating in the community was around 8 million tons.
“Nataru, I received data from the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Trade, and other related ministers, that the Bulog rice stock is almost 2 million tons, while the amount in the community exceeds 8 million tons.” “So, it is safe, controlled, and stable,” said Zulkifli Hasan at a press conference themed Food Self-Sufficiency at the Mina Bahari III Building, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Central Jakarta, Thursday (28/11/2024).
Other Food Supply Guarantees
The Food Coordinating Minister also urged the public not to worry about the availability of food supplies. “Prices are stable, and the stock of basic necessities is sufficient in the market.” God willing, the holiday season will be safe,” he added.
Additionally, PT Berdikari, a member of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Food sector, also ensures the stabilization of food supply and prices, particularly for commodities such as chicken, eggs, beef, and imported buffalo meat.
Provision of Food According to HET The General Manager Corporate Secretary of PT Berdikari, AS Hasbi Al Islahi, emphasized that his party plays a strategic role in maintaining food supply.
All commodities provided by PT Berdikari are sold at the Highest Retail Price (HET) as determined by the National Food Agency.
