Mission to Win in One Round Disrupted, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono’s Team Denies Coalition Machine Not Working Optimally

The mission of Jakarta gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates number 1, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO), to win in one round in the Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election was not achieved. In fact, winning in one round was something that the RIDO candidates always emphasized during the campaign stages.

In response to this, the RIDO Winning Team denied that all the political party machines of the Coalition for an Advanced Indonesia (KIM) were not mobilized to win RIDO in the 2024 Jakarta Regional Election in one round.
“The first thing, we announce that the supporting parties of the candidate pair number 1, Bang Ridwan Kamil and Mas Suswono, are united and solid,” said the Chairman of the RIDO Winning Team, Ahmad Riza Patria or Ariza at the DPD Golkar DKI, Central Jakarta, Thursday (28/11/2024).
Therefore, Ariza dismissed the rumors circulating about the lack of solidarity among the KIM Plus political parties supporting RIDO in their campaign efforts for the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. He said that all parties from each supporting political party have been working hard.

“So if anyone says that PKB or NasDem, or Democrats are not working, that is a big mistake,” Ariza stated.

He emphasized that all coalition parties are always involved in various opportunities. Therefore, he urged the public not to doubt the unity and solidity of the parties in KIM Plus working to win RIDO in Jakarta.

“(All supporting political parties) work from morning until morning again, not only in this office, we evaluate meetings, but also in the field, all ranks from the central level to the RTRW level, all parties and mass organizations work,” he said.

Not Winning a Round, Ridwan Kamil and the Coalition Will Conduct an Evaluation

The mission of Jakarta Governor (Cagub) and Deputy Governor Candidate number 1 Ridwan Kamil-Suswono to win in one round in the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election was not achieved. This is evident from the preliminary quick count results.

Ridwan Kamil stated that many factors caused the Jakarta gubernatorial election not to proceed in a single round as targeted. However, he could not explain in detail the factors he meant.

“Politics is not mathematics, there are many factors that I cannot easily explain in this doorstop,” said Ridwan Kamil at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (27/11/2024).

However, he acknowledged that the quick count results from various survey institutions were not much different from the internal calculations conducted by the winning team. Therefore, an evaluation will be carried out in response to the existing quick count results.

“We also check public participation, which on the ground tends to decline compared to the regional elections 5 years ago.” That also needs to be evaluated, where the participation has decreased, in which areas. “So basically, while waiting for the official results, we will evaluate,” he explained.

Furthermore, Ridwan Kamil stated that the Jakarta gubernatorial election is different from the two previous elections he had experienced. The parameters mentioned are very different.

“Because the dynamics in the Jakarta Pilkada are extraordinary as they attract attention from all over Indonesia.” Therefore, we will contemplate and re-strategize what needs to be done,” he said.

In the preliminary results of the quick count by Charta Politika Indonesia on Wednesday (27/11/2024) at 18:45 WIB, the pair number three, Pramono-Rano, led over their opponents. The total votes counted reached 100 percent. The details are as follows:
