Pramono-Rano Leads Slightly, Jakarta Pilkada 2 Rounds Still Possible

Jakarta – Executive Director of Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO), Dedi Kurnia Syah Putra, said that the mutual claims between the pairs of gubernatorial candidates (Cagub) and vice gubernatorial candidates (Cawagub) in responding to the quick count results in the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election cannot be blamed.

“Mutual claims are normal as long as there is no official decision from the KPU, but so far we rarely make mistakes in interpreting quick counts,” said Dedi to Liputan6.com, Thursday (28/11/2024).
According to Dedi, the institutions conducting the quick counts indeed have a good reputation. However, Dedi said the possibility of the Jakarta gubernatorial election going to a second round is still open.
“But so far we have rarely been wrong in interpreting quick counts, of course from institutions with a maintained reputation, such as Indikator or LSI,” he said.

Meanwhile, the preliminary quick count from various survey institutions shows that the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno (Si Doel) pair has a slight lead with 50.07 percent. Referring to these results, Pramono-Rano have also declared victory in the first round.

“Although Pramono has a chance to win in one round, the same situation is also open for two rounds considering Pramono’s lead is not far from 50 percent,” he said.

Meanwhile, the number 1 gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, claim that the Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election will go to a second round. They are also preparing a winning strategy for the second round of the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

However, Dedi believes that the chances for Ridwan-Kamil Suswono to win in the first round of the Jakarta 2024 Pilkada are also quite small. This is because, if we look at the preliminary quick count results, the vote difference between Ridwan Kamil-Suswono and Pramono-Rano is quite significant.

“The chance of a lawsuit from Ridwan-Suswono is honestly quite small, because the gap in votes between them and Pramono is already quite large, exceeding 3 percent, it will certainly be difficult to bring a complaint to the Constitutional Court unless there is a strong violation,” Dedi stated.

RIDO Claims the Regional Election Will Have Two Rounds

Previously, the Chairman of the Winning Team for Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor candidates number 1 Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) Ahmad Riza Patria or Ariza announced the internal real count results of the Jakarta 2024 Pilkada. The result is that the 2024 regional election is said to have to go through two rounds.

According to Ariza, based on the real count results conducted by the data team of candidate pair number 1, there were a total of 4,353,683 votes cast for the Jakarta 2024 regional election.

Referring to that data, no pair of candidates (Paslon) received more than 50 percent of the votes as a requirement to win in one round.

“Therefore, we hereby convey the results of the data input we received, stating that the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in DKI Jakarta will take place in two rounds,” said Ariza at the DPD Partai Golkar DKI, Central Jakarta, Thursday (28/11/2024).

The Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Gerindra Party DKI Jakarta detailed that the candidate pair number 1, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, obtained 40.17 percent with a total of 1,748,714 votes.

Meanwhile, the gubernatorial-cum-vice gubernatorial candidate pair number 2, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, received 10.55 percent with 459,475 votes. Then, the candidate pair number 2, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, received 49.28 percent with 2,145,494 votes.
