Quick counts from several survey institutions show that the vote tally for the pair supported by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan), Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi, is trailing behind the candidates supported by the Coalition for an Advanced Indonesia (KIM) Plus, Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin.
Seeing this, the Chairman of the Central Leadership Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan), Ganjar Pranowo, spoke out about the lagging of Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi. He viewed the defeat in the quick count wisely.
“There are winners and losers, it’s just a normal process,” he said.
When asked for his response on whether the defeat of the pair supported by PDI Perjuangan was a result of the alleged fraud, Ganjar requested all parties to wait for the report they had submitted to the relevant authorities.
“Let’s just wait for all the reports, whether they are processed or not, some have been reported, some haven’t, so we just need to wait for the process.” Later, if not, you’ll be disappointed, right?”said Ganjar.
Democracy is Threatened to Die

Previously, the Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan, Megawati Soekarnoputri, expressed her disappointment over the Simultaneous Regional Elections 2024 and the defeat of the candidates supported in mass base areas.
In her speech, Megawati mentioned that the 2024 regional elections have become a spectacle of democracy that is now threatened with extinction due to the use of state resources and tools.
“This is evident in several regions that I have been continuously observing, such as Banten, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, up to North Sulawesi and various other provinces,” said Megawati, quoted on Thursday (28/11).
Central Java is known as the “cage of bulls” because it is the stronghold of loyal PDIP voters. She cannot accept PDIP losing in Central Java because she has known the region for a long time.
“I know Central Java very well. I have been elected as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives three times.” Central Java is not just a “bull pen,” but a breeding ground for the ideas of nationalism and patriotism,” said Megawati in her statement on Wednesday (27/11).
Megawati suspects that there has been a mobilization of power, causing the people of Central Java to remain silent. She lamented that these practices have gone beyond the boundaries of ethical, moral, and conscientious propriety.
“However, in a situation where everything can be mobilized by power, what happens is silencing,” he emphasized.
For that reason, the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia called on the cadres not to be afraid to voice the truth.
“Never be afraid to voice the truth,” said Megawati.
