The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), Prasetyo Hadi, explained the reason why the position of Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres) is filled by someone from the military. This position was previously held by a civilian, Heru Budi Hartono.
He became the Head of the Presidential Secretariat during the administration of the seventh President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo or Jokowi. Prasetyo said the new Chief of Presidential Staff, Major General TNI Ariyo Windutomo, was chosen by President Prabowo Subianto because he has a good track record.
“I think whatever it is, he (Prabowo) will definitely choose the best person he feels is capable of providing support,” explained Prasetyo after the inauguration at the Office of the Ministry of State Secretariat in Jakarta, Friday (29/11/2024).
Ariyo himself previously served as the Head of the Supervisory Unit at the Defense University. Prasetyo believes that Ariyo can carry out the duties of the Presidential Staff Office well.
“We fully understand that Major General Aryo’s track record is indeed fitting for that position, and we are confident that he can carry out his duties well,” he explained.
Previously, Ariyo Windutomo was included in the list of 76 TNI Senior Officers (Pati) who were reassigned on Thursday, October 31, 2024.The rotation and transfer were based on the TNI Commander’s Decree Number Kep/1332/X/2024 regarding the dismissal and appointment in positions within the Indonesian National Armed Forces.
Job Transfer
In the reshuffle, Ariyo was transferred from the position of Head of the Supervisory Unit (Kasatwas) of the Defense University (Unhan) to the Head of the Presidential Secretariat.
The position of Head of the University Defense Supervisory Unit (Kasatwas Unhan) that he left will be filled by Major General Agus Prangarso, who previously served as the Commander of the Army Staff and Command School. (Danseskoad).
Ariyo is a graduate of the Military Academy (Akmil) class of 1996. So far, Ariyo has held many positions in the Ministry of Defense. Like serving as the Head of Personnel Division at the Ministry of Defense, Head of the General Bureau at the Ministry of Defense Secretariat.
Lastly, he served as the Head of the Supervisory Unit (Kasatwas) at the Defense University. (Unhan).
