Muzani of Gerindra Says Prabowo Keeps His Political Promise by Raising Teacher Salaries

Jakarta, MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani stated that President Prabowo Subianto is committed to advancing Indonesia’s education sector, having allocated Rp 722 trillion for education.

This was conveyed while attending the Education Conference organized by the Darul Hikam Foundation in Bandung, Friday (29/11/2024). This education conference was attended by the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Prof. Dadan Hindayana, Deputy Chairperson of Commission X of the DPR, Himmatul Aliyah, Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Atip Latipulhayat, and the Chairman of the Darul Hikam Foundation, Sodik Mujahid.
According to Muzani, the allocation of funds for education is mandated by the Constitution, which is 20 percent of the total state budget. However, he said that is still not enough.
“The allocation of the education budget is very large, Rp 722 trillion. 20 percent of our total state budget.” But for Mr. Prabowo, that’s still not enough. Now Mr. Prabowo is thinking about the importance of nutritional improvement to enhance the quality of our human resources. Mr. Prabowo will provide free nutritious meals to 82.9 million Indonesian children. “This is the significant investment made by President Prabowo for the advancement of our education sector,” said Ahmad Muzani in his statement.

According to the Secretary-General of Gerindra, President Prabowo has a high awareness of advancing the Indonesian nation through massive investments in the education sector. This is Prabowo’s commitment to realizing an Advanced Indonesia with highly competitive human resources.

“What does it mean?” that President Prabowo’s awareness to improve the quality of education, enhance the human resources of the Indonesian people, and advance our nation is a long-term investment commitment as well as fulfilling his campaign promises,” said Muzani.

“This is President Prabowo’s commitment.” He has started to strengthen our nation, to strengthen Indonesia. Various policies have been implemented by President Prabowo, such as food self-sufficiency, free nutritional meals, debt cancellation, and most recently, increasing teachers’ salaries. “This is an effort, a commitment from Prabowo to advance and prosper the Indonesian nation,” he added.

He greatly appreciates the president’s move to increase the salaries of both civil servant and private school teachers. (bukan PNS). This is also part of the realization of President Prabowo’s campaign promises to improve the welfare of teachers in Indonesia.
