Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto will gather the Merah Putih cabinet members for a plenary cabinet meeting on Friday (29/11/2024). The plenary cabinet meeting is scheduled to be held at the Jakarta Presidential Palace on Friday afternoon.
“The plan is as follows.” (sidang kabinet paripurna). Afternoon,” said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi to reporters, Friday (29/11/2024).
He said one of the agendas to be discussed in the cabinet meeting is the results of Prabowo’s visits to six countries. Prabowo is known to have made state visits to China, the United States, Peru, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates over two weeks.
“Yes, of course, besides the results of the President’s visit, there are other updates from each coordinating minister and ministry, which is routine,” explained Prasetyo.
When asked whether the upcoming cabinet meeting would discuss the proposal to raise the VAT to 12 percent, Prasetyo denied it. According to him, the VAT increase is still being calculated.
“Wait for the announcement date. It’s still being calculated,” he said.
Previously, the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, revealed that the total investment commitment of 18.5 billion USD obtained from his visit to several countries from November 8-21, 2024, exceeded expectations.
“Somewhat exceeded. “So, I returned with a total commitment of 18.5 billion US dollars, I think this is quite good,” said President Prabowo Subianto in England on Thursday (21/11), followed via live stream from the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Friday morning.
Global Confidence in Indonesia’s Economy
According to the President, this achievement has demonstrated global confidence in Indonesia’s promising economic stability.
To respond to this, President Prabowo conveyed the strong commitment of the Indonesian Government to create an investment ecosystem free from corruption practices.
“So, we obviously have to be more careful, we are certainly a clean government and they greatly appreciate our good intentions,” he said.
