A protest action was carried out by a group of people in front of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Jakarta Province. They demanded that the organizers of the Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election investigate the alleged fraud that occurred during the process of selecting the governor and deputy governor.
The coordinator of the protest action, Abdul Aziz, conveyed a number of demands from the crowd representing the group “Jakarta Society Protests” from atop a command vehicle.
Aziz asked the Jakarta KPU to thoroughly investigate the finding of pre-marked Pilkada ballots before they were used at polling station 028, Pinang Ranti, Makasar, East Jakarta.
The position of the pre-marked ballot was in the image of the gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidate pair number 03, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, also known as Si Doel.
“The KPPS members have already been paid. This is a big conspiracy,” shouted Aziz in front of the Jakarta KPU, Jalan Salemba Raya, Senen, Central Jakarta, Monday (2/12/2024).
Aziz urged law enforcement agencies to collaborate with the KPU and the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) to uncover the alleged fraud that occurred in the Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election.
“To uncover who the mastermind is behind the operation to vote for candidate pair number 03,” he said.
In the protest action, the masses carried banners reading “HMI Garis Keras,” complete with the logo of the Indonesian Student Alliance. (HMI). Meanwhile, some were wearing hats with the logo of candidate pair 01 Ridwan Kamil-Suswono.
Through banners as well, the protesters demanded that the Jakarta KPU conduct a Re-vote (PSU) at TPS 028 Pinang Ranti, East Jakarta, due to alleged fraud that occurred there.
“We urge the KPU to conduct a Re-vote,” the banner read.
