Jakarta – There are reports that MAS (14), the perpetrator of the murder of his father and grandmother in Cilandak, South Jakarta, was pressured by his parents to study diligently. The news was clarified by the police.
The Head of Public Relations at the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Nurma Dewi, stated that MAS was often asked by both parents to study, but the perpetrator claimed there was no pressure.
“He was indeed asked by his father and mother.” “But he (MAS) does not feel pressured, because he said ‘if I study, I am smart’. That is what the child in conflict with the law expressed,” Nurma told reporters at the South Jakarta Police Station on Tuesday (3/12).
“If so far we ask, then the child answers.” He said, ‘this is not coercion.’ So even though he was asked to study, he did it willingly,” he continued.
Nurma also added that the investigators had conducted a digital examination through the child’s device, and no suspicious findings were discovered, until MAS ultimately dared to kill his own father and grandmother.
“Inside it, on the phone, there was clearly nothing strange.” There are photos, then videos that are just funny. So there was nothing suspicious in the eyes of the investigators. So there were no other applications,” he explained.

Previously, Nurma also revealed that based on the school’s statement, MAS is a polite and high-achieving student.
“Earlier, we also requested a statement from the school.” From the school, the child is good, friendly, and tends to be smart. That’s what we got from the school’s report. Because the child’s daily interactions with the teacher are good,” he said.
Furthermore, he stated that MAS, who has been designated as a suspect, is entangled in Article 338 of the Criminal Code, Subsidiary to Article 351, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code.
We are applying Article 338 of the Criminal Code, Subsidiary to Article 351, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code. Then we layer it with the Domestic Violence Law, Article 44, paragraphs 2 and 3,” he said.
Until now, the police are still investigating the motive behind MAS’s actions of brutally killing his father and grandmother.
