Head of Presidential Communications Hasan Nasbi responded to the social assistance (bansos) labeled ‘Vice President Gibran’s Assistance’. The assistance was provided by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Hasan explained that Gibran has operational funds as vice president. According to him, Gibran can use those operational funds to provide assistance to the community, including flood victims.
“The vice president’s assistance is fine.” The aid fund from the vice president, right (Gibran) has operational costs. He can use that for assistance to the community,” said Hasan to reporters at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, Monday (2/12/2024).
Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf also requested that the social assistance labeled ‘Vice President Gibran’s Assistance’ not be debated. According to him, there is no issue with the distribution of social assistance for flood victims from Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“Yes, in my opinion, there is no problem. There is no problem, later everyone will know the government program, or from private parties, everyone will know.” “So there’s no need to debate it,” said Minister of Social Affairs Gus Ipul, as he is commonly known, to reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Monday (2/12/2024).
He said that social assistance for the community can be provided by anyone, starting from the Ministry of Social Affairs, other ministries, and even the vice president. Gus Ipul said that the most important thing is not the source of the social assistance, but the benefits of the aid. “What matters is the benefit, that is the main thing. The benefit for the community is what is important,” said Saifullah.
When asked about the source of the social assistance funds from Gibran, Gus Ipul admitted he did not know. “I don’t know yet, I don’t know yet,” he said.
