2024 Pilkada Vote Recap, Bawaslu Notes Issues in 400 Districts

Jakarta-The General Election Supervisory Board of the Republic of Indonesia (Bawaslu RI) has noted the ongoing vote recapitulation process in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections. According to Bawaslu RI Commissioner Lolly Suhenty, there are 400 sub-districts that reported objections raised by witnesses of the candidate pairs.

“Next, there are 187 sub-districts where there are discrepancies or differences in data reported by the KPU officials, in this case, the Sub-District Election Committee (PPK), during the recapitulation process with the monitoring results based on our PKD reports, for example, the Village/Neighborhood/Sub-District Supervisory Committee,” said Lolly to the media in the Bintan Islands, Wednesday (12/4/2024).

Lolly explained that in the entire process of recapitulation, the task of Bawaslu is to ensure whether there are any procedural violations or discrepancies in the wording. If there are, Bawaslu will immediately make corrections and provide improvement suggestions to the KPU officials.

“Well, as far as we have received reports from the field, these improvement suggestions were then followed up by the KPU in this context, the PPK, when the recapitulation was moving at the sub-district level,” said Lolly.

Overall, Lolly concluded that Bawaslu’s work in the field involves monitoring during the counting process, followed by the ongoing recapitulation process.

“Based on the data received, the improvement suggestions issued have been followed up, including in this context when the recommendation is to conduct a PSU,” she concluded.

Here are the Bawaslu recommendation data submitted as a follow-up to the findings reported to the General Election Commission. (KPU).

Re-voting (PSU) took place at 180 polling stations (TPS). However, 26 TPS did not carry it out due to differing perspectives between Bawaslu and KPU.
