Jakarta – The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, led a closed-door ministerial-level meeting to discuss the Second Phase of the National Sports Grand Design (DBON).
The meeting lasted about 2 hours at the Kemenpora Guest House, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/11/2024).
DBON is a long-term sports development program for 2021-2045 that encompasses educational sports, community sports, and elite sports.
Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo said that in the meeting, it was discussed that educational institutions would be more active in the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) Phase II to be implemented by the government.
“It was discussed earlier regarding the continuation of the second phase of the national sports grand design. And the focus was on how educational institutions can be more actively involved in terms of facilities and also the curriculum in particular,” said Dito.
The ministerial-level meeting involved 12 ministries. Dito said that the ministerial-level meeting was held to reaffirm the government’s commitment regarding DBON Phase II in the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
According to Dito, all institutions mentioned in the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on DBON will have tasks and functions according to their respective institutions.
“Earlier, the Ministry of Health also conveyed the level of public health in our country, and all stakeholders mentioned in the Presidential Regulation have their respective functions and duties, from upstream, which is coaching, to downstream, which is the industry,” explained Dito.
DBON Will Refer to Prabowo’s Priorities

Dito mentioned that DBON Phase II will also undergo adjustments from the previous DBON.
The formulation, he said, refers to various priority programs of President Prabowo.
“Of course, there will be evaluations and changes. For example, earlier regarding the sports branches in the vision and also Mr. Prabowo’s priorities, it is clear that our priorities are the Asian Games, the Olympics, and the World Cup,” said Dito.
