PDIP Obtains Evidence of Alleged Police Involvement in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, Will Be Registered with the Constitutional Court on December 15

Jakarta – The Chairman of the DPP PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) for the National Legal System Reform Sector, Ronny Talapessy, claims to have obtained evidence of police involvement in the simultaneous 2024 regional elections.

“We at PDIP have recorded the involvement of police officers in Central Java, North Sulawesi, Papua Mountains, North Sumatra, and other regions,” said Ronny in Lenteng Agung, Wednesday (4/12/2024).

Ronny said that the alleged involvement of the brown party in the Simultaneous Regional Elections 2024 is supported by evidence and witnesses. He stated that his team will present the evidence and bring the witnesses to the Constitutional Court. (MK).

“Of course, we from our legal team have prepared witnesses, evidence, and we have compiled all the available statements.” “Our interest is for the later proof at the Constitutional Court,” emphasized Ronny.

According to Ronny, the involvement of the apparatus has become one of the things criticized by the public. The public criticizes the police institution for being considered not neutral in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections. The term “Parcok” or brown party has emerged as a symbol of the involvement of officials in the political contest.

“So, the discussion is related to the involvement of the Police, ASN, Village Heads, and PJ. We from the PDIP legal team have already gathered the evidence related to this.” So, it’s too early for anyone to say this is not true, this is a hoax. According to us, we have sufficient evidence and we will prove it in the Constitutional Court,” Ronny asserted.

Form a Special Team

On that occasion, PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto added that PDIP has formed a special team consisting of the party’s legal aid body, pro-democracy figures, and independent legal advisors.

The team will focus on various allegations of abuse of power, including the use of “parcok” (brown party) in several regions, such as Banten, North Sumatra, Central Java, and North Sulawesi.

“So, we have formed a special team, a legal team as a combination of the PDIP people’s advocacy legal aid body, which also involves pro-democracy figures and several credible legal advisors, to address various anomalies that occur in Banten, North Sumatra, Central Java, as well as in several other regions like North Sulawesi, where the use of ‘parcok’ is very, very massive and even extends to places of worship like churches,” said Hasto.

PDIP itself plans to register these findings with the Constitutional Court on December 15, 2024, three days after the announcement of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election results.
