Pertamina Forms Nataru Task Force, Active Starting December 16, 2024

Jakarta – PT Pertamina (Persero) has formed a task force (Satgas) for Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru) to anticipate a surge in Fuel Oil (BBM) consumption in the community ahead of the year-end holiday period. Pertamina’s President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri stated that the task force will be actively operating from December 16, 2024, to January 9, 2025.

“The main task is to ensure the smooth distribution of fuel, LPG, and of course, to anticipate the predicted peak of the Christmas outbound traffic on December 24 and the Christmas return traffic on December 28, 2024. Similarly, to anticipate the New Year’s holiday traffic on December 31 and the return traffic on January 4, 2025,” he said at a press conference held at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) office in Jakarta on Monday, December 9, 2024.

He stated that Pertamina will ensure stock readiness and infrastructure services in the form of facilities and infrastructure to support the supply of fuel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). In addition, monitoring of the availability of fuel and LPG will also be conducted through the Pertamina Data and Command Center.

“This activity will be monitored through IPE on the Pertamina Integrated Data Enterprise and Command Center side. Which we will, perhaps tomorrow, officially inaugurate and rename as Pertamina Digital Hub. There, we will monitor from upstream, refineries, shipping, to the operation of new fuel terminals, up to gas stations, on a daily basis, to ensure that all supply chain processes run smoothly,” he said.

They project that there will be a surge in demand at the end of 2024. According to their calculations, this increase in demand will occur for gasoline fuel by 5 percent compared to normal demand levels.
