Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto considers the inflation control mechanism implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) to be a significant innovation in national economic governance. Prabowo also requested that the inflation control mechanism, applied from the central to regional levels, be continued.
This was conveyed by Prabowo during the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) on Inflation Control for 2024 at Sasana Bhakti Praja, Ministry of Home Affairs, Jakarta, Monday (9/12/2024).
“I ask that this mechanism be continued, Minister of Home Affairs, please carry this on.” I also extend my gratitude to all parties, across ministries at the central level and also at the regional level. “My gratitude, my appreciation, I believe this will someday become a case study, many countries will learn from us,” said Prabowo as quoted from the press release of the Presidential Secretariat, Monday (12/9/2024).
He also emphasized that the key to controlling inflation in the future is food self-sufficiency, both at the national and regional levels. Prabowo encouraged the creation of food self-sufficiency down to the district and sub-district levels, in accordance with the nation’s local wisdom.
“The key once again is self-sufficiency. Self-sufficiency in food in the broadest and most comprehensive sense.” Since long ago, we have been taught that every village must have a food barn, every village. So this is our grand strategy,” he emphasized.
