The issue of Polling Place (TPS) 028 in Pinang Ranti, Makasar Subdistrict, Jakarta was a topic brought up by the Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) Team during the provincial-level vote recapitulation plenary meeting at Hotel Sari Pacific Jakarta, Autograph Collection, on Saturday (7/12/2024).
“I want to convey that today we have seen the incident at TPS 028 Pinang Ranti where we want to present the performance of our witness, Mr. Samsul Maarif, regarding the Pinang Ranti issue. There are several points we want to share with our friends as notes for the improvement of our democracy,” he stated in the meeting.
According to the RIDO witness, the incident that harmed democracy occurred on November 27, 2024, at TPS 028 from 12:10 to 12:40. At the time of the incident, the perpetrator was caught red-handed by the TPS supervisory committee, who found that 18 ballots had been marked for candidate pair number 03. Even so, the subsequent manual count did not show any difference in votes.
“So, we, on behalf of the witnesses, request a re-election and the replacement of the chairman and the entire KPPS team,” asserted the witness from RIDO.
Hearing the protest, the witness from the number 3 candidate pair, Pram-Rano, expressed their objection. They believe that the ongoing forum is a vote recount, not anything else.
“This is a vote counting forum, not an ethics forum,” replied the Pram-Rano witness team.
“We are just expressing our objections,” replied the RIDO witness team.
Hearing the bickering between the two, the Chairman of the Jakarta KPU, Wahyu Dinata, immediately intervened. He asked both of them to respect the forum and him as the meeting chair.
“The chairperson is here, let the arguments of the RIDO team be presented first,” Wahyu asserted.
