The Reason KPU Did Not Hold a Re-vote at TPS 028 Pinang Ranti, East Jakarta

Jakarta – The Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) stated that they will not conduct a Re-vote (PSU) for polling station TPS 028 Pinang Ranti, East Jakarta. Previously, 18 ballots had been marked for the gubernatorial-cum-vice gubernatorial pair Pramono Anung-Rano Karno by an individual from the Election Organizing Group. (KPPS).

“The attempted voting was detected and prevented by the TPS supervisors, so it did not enter the ballot count. Therefore, it did not meet the criteria for a re-vote (PSU),” explained KPU Jakarta Commissioner Dody Wijaya at the Sari Pacific Hotel Jakarta, Sunday, December 8, 2024.

Dody explained that the Jakarta Bawaslu immediately responded to the incident involving the KPPS member who deliberately marked the ballot for the Cagpub 03 pair first at the instruction of the KPPS chairman.

Therefore, there is no need for a re-vote because the ballots that were already marked did not end up in the ballot box.

He claims that there will be no PSU at all in the 2024 Pilkada. This, he said, indicates an understanding of the existing regulations.

“This year, the regional elections achieved zero repeat voting. This shows that the process of understanding regulations and implementation in the field is in accordance with the laws and regulations,” he explained.

Dody added that regarding the alleged other violations during the Jakarta Pilkada, he handed it over to the Central Gakkumdu Center.
