Jakarta Deputy Chairman of the Hajj Organizing Agency (BP Haji) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak stated that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto wants the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage to be transparent.
“President Prabowo wants the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage in 2025 to be carried out in an accountable, transparent, safe, and comfortable manner,” he said during a collaborative Hajj dialogue in Medan on Monday.
Therefore, the Hajj Agency (BP Haji) was established at the ministerial level with the aim of managing Hajj services under one roof.
He said that this involves various related agencies to be directly involved in the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage.
“Currently, the public only knows that the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage is solely the responsibility of the Ministry of Religious Affairs,” he said, as quoted by Antara.
However, he said, many agencies are involved, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Immigration, and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
He said that in the future, President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto also wants the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage to be carried out under the Hajj Management Agency (BP Haji) so that services are faster and more accelerated.
“Later, the organizational structure of the Hajj Management Agency (BP Haji) will be filled with personnel from various institutions involved in Hajj management. In fact, the BP Haji will also include several two-star generals from the prosecutor’s office and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK),” he said.
He said that currently, the Hajj Agency is focused on organizing its structure while waiting for the revision of Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah.
There are three important orientations for hajj services conveyed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, namely, first, giving attention to the tasks and technical aspects of organizing the hajj pilgrimage.
“Hajj is an annual ritual, and its implementation must be carried out safely, comfortably, and efficiently,” he said.
