Jakarta – The Public Prosecutor (JPU) read out a series of demands against the defendants in the tin commodity corruption case at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday, December 9, 2024. The judges were asked to impose prison sentences ranging from 8 years to 14 years.
Against the defendant Suparta as the President Director (Dirut) of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT), the prosecutor requested the panel of judges to impose a 14-year prison sentence.
“To impose a prison sentence on the defendant Suparta for 14 years, reduced by the duration of the defendant’s detention, with an order to remain detained in the detention center,” said the prosecutor while reading the indictment.
The prosecutor also requested the panel of judges to impose a fine of Rp1 billion on Suparta, with the provision that if it is not paid, it will be replaced with a 1-year imprisonment.
And also imposing on him the obligation to pay replacement money amounting to Rp4,571,438,592,561.56; which, if not paid within one month after the decision becomes legally binding, his assets may be seized and auctioned to cover the replacement money.

“And in the event that the defendant does not have sufficient assets to pay the replacement money, it will be replaced with an 8-year prison sentence,” explained the prosecutor.
Defendant Reza Andriansyah, as the Director of Business Development at PT RBT, is charged with 8 years in prison and a fine of IDR 750 million, with the provision that if not paid, it will be replaced with 6 months of imprisonment.
Defendant Suwito Gunawan alias Awi, as the beneficial owner of PT Stanindo Inti Perkasa (SIP), is charged with 14 years in prison and a fine of Rp1 billion, with the provision that if not paid, it will be replaced with 1 year of imprisonment.
The prosecutor also requested the panel of judges to impose a restitution payment of Rp2,200,704,628,766.6; if he fails to pay, his assets will be seized. If that is still insufficient, he will be sentenced to 8 years in prison.
