The incumbent candidate pair won in 36 districts/cities with a total of 12,192,165 votes against their two competitors, the number 1 candidate pair, Luluk Nur Hamidah – Lukmanul Khakim, and the number 3 candidate pair, Tri Rismaharini – Zahrul Azhar Asumta Gus Hans.
Meanwhile, in the two cities of Surabaya and Mojokerto, Khofifah – Emil lost. In those two regions, the winners were the candidates numbered 3, Risma – Gus Hans. The candidates supported by PDIP and Hanura received a total of 6,743,095 votes in the East Java gubernatorial election 2024.
As for the candidate pair number 1, Luluk Nur Hamidah-Lukmanul Khakim, they received 1,797,332 votes. “The total valid votes were 20,732,592 and invalid votes were 1,204,610,” said Jatim KPU Commissioner Choirul Umam.
The provincial-level vote recapitulation was conducted by having the district/city KPU present the recapitulation results in their respective areas, including both voter data and the vote tally for each candidate pair.
However, since this is a provincial recapitulation, only the gubernatorial election results were read out in the forum. Namely, in front of the ranks of the East Java KPU, East Java Bawaslu, and the witnesses of each candidate pair.
Except for the recapitulation for the city of Surabaya, which triggered protests from the witnesses of the Risma-Gus Hans candidate pair, who noted discrepancies in the results in several districts. After a long debate, the data correction process was finally carried out based on the recommendation of Bawaslu Jatim.
