Work Accident, One Employee Dies Electrocuted While Installing Flood Sensors at Petamburan Water Gate

Jakarta – A work accident has occurred again. The incident was experienced by the victims ADAP (21) and DF (20) while they were about to install a flood sensor pole at the edge of the railway track at the Petamburan floodgate, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

“I confirm that the incident occurred,” said Ade Ary in a written statement on Tuesday (10/12/2024).

Ade Ary said that at that time, it was pouring rain. The victims ADAP and DF then climbed to install the sensor pole. However, unfortunately, one of the victims was suspected to have been electrocuted.

“When the victim was climbing, he was allegedly electrocuted and caused a spark,” he said.

Ade Ary explained that DF was safe and was immediately taken to Pelni Hospital. Meanwhile, ADAP was thrown into the West Flood Canal.

The victim’s body was found by a joint team from Basarnas and Damkar at 3:10 PM WIB.

“The victim ADAP was found dead and then taken to RSCM,” he said.

Currently, the case is still under investigation. “The case is being handled by the Tanah Abang Police Station,” he concluded.
