Surabaya – The Head of Public Relations at Polrestabes Surabaya, AKP Rina Shanty Nainggolan, confirmed that they have detained a man who committed violence by pinching a child, which went viral on social media.
The perpetrator, Rina continued, had pinched a child multiple times, which took place on the side of the road at Jaksa Agung Suprapto Number 37, Surabaya, East Java.
“Yes, the perpetrator has been secured,” she told reporters in Surabaya, Friday (13/12/2024).
When asked about the status and motive of the perpetrator, Rina still could not explain the details of the case.
“(The motive of the perpetrator) just a moment, be patient, wait a bit,” she said.
It is known that the video of a man pinching a child multiple times went viral on social media and took place on Jalan Jaksa Agung Suprapto, Surabaya. In the video recording, a man can be seen carrying a child while pinching them repeatedly.
The child cried and said mercy. However, the man continued to pinch the child.
“Help spread this, my friend just witnessed this act of violence in front of Leedon Hotel, Jl. Jaksa Agung Suprapto No. 37 Surabaya, this afternoon at 11:15 AM WIB. Regardless of what the boy did wrong, it shouldn’t be dealt with by pinching him repeatedly. If you look closely, the boy was crying and saying ‘please stop’,” wrote the video uploader’s account.
“My friend was only with her small child at that time and there was no one else around, my friend was confused and afraid that something worse would happen after this, please help if anyone recognizes the child,” she wrote again.
