Jakarta, The pair of candidates for governor and deputy governor number 1, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) acknowledged their defeat in the Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election. They congratulated the couple Pramono Anung-Rano Karno who won the contest with 50.07 percent of the votes.
Ridwan Kamil said that the material for the lawsuit in the Constitutional Court (MK) was actually ready to be filed because they found many facts and findings that needed clarification and confirmation. However, the lawsuit was canceled after a joint deliberation and receiving input from expert figures and leaders.
“And this is a lesson in democracy and our sympathy to the people of Jakarta who might be tired of the long elections, in the end, the RIDO couple decided to accept the Jakarta gubernatorial election results as determined by the KPU,” said Ridwan Kamil during a press conference at the RIDO Winning Office, Jalan Pegangsaan, Central Jakarta, Friday (13/12/2024).
“We congratulate the pair Pramono Anung and Rano Karno who will lead Jakarta for the next five years. Thank you for the competition, it has been a learning experience, and we also extend our thanks to Dharma Pongkrekun-Kun Wardana for competing together,” added the man commonly known as RK.
Ridwan Kamil also invited the people of Jakarta and Pram-Rano to accommodate the aspirations of the RIDO supporters when they serve as the governor and deputy governor of Jakarta.
“Hopefully Mas Pram and Bang Rano can accommodate the aspirations of the people of Jakarta, we would like to entrust the aspirations of the RIDO supporters because we received 40% of the votes, which is certainly very significant and must be taken into account,” Ridwan Kamil emphasized.
Based on the provincial-level recapitulation results established by the Jakarta KPU, the first-placed pair Ridwan Kamil-Suswono received 1,718,160 votes, the pair Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana received 459,230 votes, and Pramono Anung-Rano Karno received 2,183,239 votes.
