Jakarta – Cooperatives Minister Budi Arie Setiadi assured that he is ready to assist the police in investigating the online gambling case within the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi).
“The eradication of online gambling is our collective duty as fellow compatriots.” Therefore, consistency and steadfastness are needed to eradicate online gambling, especially in protecting the community,” said Budi Arie at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Thursday (19/12/2024).
The former Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) was reluctant to comment on the questions posed by the investigators during the examination. He fully handed over the content of his statement to the police.
“As a law-abiding citizen, I am obligated to assist the police in resolving the eradication of online gambling cases in the Komdigi area,” he explained.
Summoning Officials
Previously, the police spoke out about the plan to question former Minister of Communication and Informatics, Budi Arie Setiadi, as a witness in the online gambling case involving certain employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi).
The Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra, stated that the summons of several officials, including Budi Arie, is still awaiting the results of the ongoing investigation.
“Are there any other officials whose statements are still in process?” “So, it is likely that after the regional elections, we will conduct further investigations,” Wira told reporters on Monday (25/11/2024).
