A brawl between groups broke out on Basuki Rahmad Street (Bassura), Jatinegara, East Jakarta. One person died in the brawl incident.
“It is true that there is a case of death caused by a sharp weapon, allegedly during a brawl.” The victim RP, male,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, to reporters on Thursday (2/1).
The brawl occurred early this morning around 01:45 WIB. The victim was rushed to Premier Jatinegara Hospital and then the case of the man who died due to the brawl was reported to the police.
“Received information about someone dying due to a brawl at RS Premier Jatinegara,” he said.
Around 02:00 WIB, officers from the East Jakarta Police arrived at the hospital and immediately checked on the victim in the emergency room.
The hospital authorities said the victim was taken to the hospital by his friend. At that time, the witness claimed to be a victim of a mugging.
“According to the on-duty doctor, the victim was admitted to RS Premier Jatinegara at 00:55 WIB, escorted by witness 1, who stated that the person was a robbery victim.” Then he was received by witness 2 and subsequently taken to the hospital’s emergency room, where he was declared dead by the on-duty doctor,” he said.
Currently, the police are still conducting a series of investigations into the deadly brawl case. The victim’s body has been taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta for further processing.
