Jakarta -There is no milk on the menu of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Program MBG) which is being held for the first time in Jakarta today, Monday (6/1/2025). The MBG Program menu only consists of rice, teriyaki chicken, fried tofu, stir-fried long beans, and oranges.
According to Liputan6.com, the absence of milk in the MBG menu was found in two schools inspected by the Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi. The schools in question are SD Barunawati 2-SMPN Barunawati and SMPN 61 Palemerah, West Jakarta.
In response to this, Teguh said that milk will still be served in the MBG program, but not every day. Milk will be served only 1-2 times a week.
“It was indeed already conveyed that what will be delivered approximately once a week is 2 servings of milk,” said Teguh at SMPN 61 Palmerah, West Jakarta, Monday (6/1/2025).
He stated that the milk requirement in the Free Nutritious Meal Program (Program MBG) will be replaced according to equivalent nutritional needs or standards. Teguh said, this is similar to rice, where it was found that some children do not eat rice.
“And it doesn’t have to be milk, there will be other parts later.” For example, let’s say, not all regions use rice. Let’s say in Papua, maybe sago,” said Teguh.
“And in the Jakarta area, if no one likes rice or is not used to it, it can be replaced with potatoes, and also with protein, meaning there are variations,” he continued.
Nevertheless, Teguh stated that his side is ready to provide additional subsidies related to milk needs if there are directives from the central government. With that, he hopes the MBG program runs smoothly.
“We are ready for the assignment from the central government, however, we have not yet planned the specifics, but we are ready if the central government later confirms DKI’s participation,” Teguh emphasized.
