JakartaThe police found new evidence regarding the case of a family suicide in Ciputat Timur, South Tangerang City (Tangsel), allegedly due to being caught up in online gambling.
The police stated that the family was first killed by the father with the initials AF (31), who then committed suicide in the victim’s rented kitchen.
“After the crime scene investigation and scientific crime investigation involving forensic medical experts and digital forensics, as well as psychologists and criminal law experts, based on the visual results made by the doctor on the bodies of YL (wife) and AH (child), wounds were found on the neck and it was concluded that this was consistent with a strangulation case,” said East Ciputat Police Chief, Kompol Kemas Arifin, Tuesday (1/7/2025).
Meanwhile, on AF, typical hanging marks were found. According to the police chief, in forensic science, the marks or signs of hanging will look different.
The police also found evidence that AF, on December 14, 2024, visited a website containing a doctor’s explanation about the poison left by the shoemaker in Mojokerto.
Then there was also AF visiting a website titled ‘How easy to kill someone with a knife’.
“We convey that, regarding YL and AH, it is suspected that they were first ensnared by AF, and then AF’s victim committed suicide,” he said.
As is known, one family was found dead in their rented house after Yani, YL’s older sister, attempted to turn on the water pump. He became suspicious when no one had left the house by noon and the front door was locked.
Yani was shocked to see her 3-year-old nephew AH lying stiff on the bed with foaming at the mouth. Meanwhile, her younger sister Yuni was lying lifeless under the bed. Meanwhile, AF’s body was also found hanging in the kitchen.
