Indonesian men’s singles player, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, successfully won in the first round of the 2025 Malaysia Open.

Ginting won against Taiwan’s representative, Lee Chia Hao, in the round of 32 with a score of 21-18 and 21-12 at the Axiata Arena Stadium, on Wednesday (8/1). With that result, Ginting advanced to the round of 16 of the 2025 Malaysia Open.

Ginting admitted to being grateful for the victory. Moreover, he admitted that he was able to overcome the challenges posed by the condition of the field used for the match.

“The court conditions in the second game were different from the first game, and the opponent also had a new strategy,” said Ginting in his statement on Wednesday (8/1).

Ginting fell behind in points from Hao. Fortunately, Ginting said, this could be anticipated by applying a precise strategy to regain control of the game.

“I don’t want to burden myself too much, so the focus is just on finding a good way to play. Even if I lose, there’s still a third game,” said Ginting.

“I want to be more consistent in the implementation of strategies.” Quickly and accurately reading the changes in the opponent’s strategy as well as the field conditions,” he added.
