Jakarta – Attorney General ST Burhanuddin received a visit from the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setyo Budiyanto, along with his staff at the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung), South Jakarta. The meeting was aimed at strengthening the synergy between the two institutions in the effort to combat corruption.
Attorney General Burhanuddin stated that the relationship between the Attorney General’s Office and the KPK has been good so far without any negative competition. Both institutions are committed to eradicating corruption in Indonesia.
“The meeting today is a first step towards a better relationship and performance of both institutions in the future,” said Burhanuddin at the Attorney General’s Office, South Jakarta, Wednesday (8/1/2025).
KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto said that this meeting discussed various important issues related to the eradication of corruption in the country.
“The eradication of corruption has become the focus of President Prabowo Subianto in the Asta Cita government program.” This is a concern for all of us Law Enforcement Officers, including the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), said Setyo.
The Eradication of Corruption Will Be Synergistic
In order to realize the government’s aspirations, deep synergy and coordination are needed in every sector, including joint education and training, as well as enhancing asset recovery efforts in connection with the establishment of a new agency at the Attorney General’s Office, namely the Asset Recovery Agency.
“In this meeting, we will strive to ensure that the goal of eradicating corruption between the Attorney General’s Office and the KPK runs synergistically, so that the goal expected by the public and the government, which is a significant decrease in the corruption perception index, can be achieved.” That commitment is part of our shared responsibility,” he stated.
