The Search of Hasto’s House Followed the Procedure

Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto responded to the search of the house of PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto related to the bribery case of the interim replacement (PAW) of Harun Masiku. The search process was ensured to be in accordance with the procedure.

“Yes, just follow the procedure, the results will definitely be reported by the investigators later,” said Setyo at the Attorney General’s Office, South Jakarta, Wednesday (8/1).

However, he is still reluctant to disclose evidence of Hasto’s involvement in the PAW bribery case. Similarly, there are allegations of obstruction of justice in that case. He only said that everything is currently being reported to the investigator.

“Everything will be reported by the investigator later,” he said.

Setyo also has not yet disclosed the results of the search at Hasto’s house. Setyo mentioned that the investigator will convey that information. “It is the investigator who will convey that, please contact the spokesperson later,” concluded Setyo.

Previously, the KPK searched Hasto Kristiyanto’s house and car in connection with the bribery case of the interim replacement (PAW) of Harun Masiku on Tuesday (7/1). KPK investigators took a blue suitcase from Hasto’s house.

Hasto is one of the suspects in the bribery case involving the replacement of members of the DPR. Hasto is suspected of having conspired to bribe Wahyu Setiawan while he was serving as a commissioner of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU RI) in 2020 to facilitate PDIP candidate Harun Masiku becoming a member of the DPR through a replacement.

Besides Hasto, the KPK has named Wahyu; Wahyu’s confidant, Agustiani Tio Fridelina; former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku; and a private individual named Saeful as suspects. Wahyu, Agustiani, and Saeful have been sentenced to prison. They are now free.

Meanwhile, Harun Masiku has not been arrested. Hasto himself was only named a suspect along with Donny Tri Istiqomah at the end of 2024.
