Jakarta – Chairman of the MUI Fatwa Division, Prof. Asrorun Niam Sholeh, appreciated President Prabowo Subianto’s swift action in realizing the free nutritious meal program.
“The implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal program that started earlier this week is a very good thing and deserves appreciation,” said Niam in his statement in Jakarta, Friday, (10/1/2025).
Even though it requires a large budget, he said, the speed of the program’s realization shows Prabowo’s seriousness in fulfilling his campaign promises.
Niam emphasized that one of the main duties of the state is to ensure the availability of food for the community and make it affordable for everyone, so that no citizen goes hungry.
“This program is part of ensuring that the state is present and fulfilling its functions optimally,” he said.
In addition, Niam continued, this free nutritious meal program is one of the efforts to create a good, smart, and quality generation.
“Therefore, the provision of this food is not just any food, but nutritious to meet nutritional needs and ensure the proper growth and development of children, ultimately growing into an intelligent generation.” In addition, in accordance with religious provisions and legal regulations, besides being nutritious, the provision of food must also ensure its halal status,” concluded Niam.
