Not Only Ahok, KPK Examines 7 Other Pertamina Officials

JakartaThe spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Tessa Mahardika Sugiarto, confirmed that they summoned the former President Commissioner of PT Pertamina and several officials of the state-owned company as witnesses in the alleged corruption case involving the procurement of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) at PT Pertamina (Persero) from 2011 to 2021 on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

“Investigated regarding the losses experienced by Pertamina in 2020 with a potential loss of USD 337 million due to Pertamina’s LNG contracts.” The DEKOM’s request to the Board of Directors to investigate the six Pertamina LNG contracts was also examined,” he said in his statement, Friday (10/1/025).

Besides Ahok, there are seven PT Pertamina officials who were summoned, including the Secretary of the Gas Director of PT Pertamina in 2012, Sulistia, then the Processing Director of PT Pertamina, Charisna Damayanto, and Ellya Susilawati.

“Edwin (Business Development Manager PT Pertamina), was investigated regarding the LNG Procurement study that was never submitted to the PIMR Directorate (Directorate of Investment and Risk Management),” said Tessa.

Furthermore, two other witnesses, Dody Setiawan and Nanang Untung, were questioned regarding the LNG sales transaction and the purchasing process in 2012.

Previously, Ahok explained that this was not the first time he had been summoned, as he had also testified in a case involving the former President Director of Pertamina, Karen Agustiawan.

The LNG corruption case involving Karen occurred between 2011 and 2021. This coincided with the period when Ahok served as the President Commissioner from 2019 to 2024.

“This LNG case is not all from my time.” “It’s just that we found it during my time as the President Commissioner, that’s all,” said Ahok to reporters at the KPK Red and White Building, Thursday (9/1/2025).
