Patrick Kluivert Reveals Reasons for Choosing Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat for the Indonesian National Team

JakartaThe new coach of the Indonesian national team, Patrick Kluivert, revealed the reason why he brought Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat to the country as his assistants.

The 48-year-old man considers his two colleagues to be professional and to have a good relationship with him, so he is optimistic that the three of them can establish solid cooperation in the Garuda squad.

As is known, the position of head coach of the Indonesian national team has indeed been removed from Shin Tae-yong by PSSI as of Monday (6/1/2025).

The dynamics of communication and tactics within the Garuda squad since before the match against China in October are touted as a strong factor that forced the Indonesian football federation to end its cooperation with the South Korean tactician.

PSSI General Chairman Erick Thohir immediately had Patrick Kluivert’s name as a candidate for the new coach, with his appointment officially announced through the PSSI social media account on Wednesday (8/1/2025).

Kluivert is bound by a two plus two-year contract and is tasked with leading the Indonesian national team to the final round of the 2026 World Cup.
