Gerindra Denies Rumor of Megawati Calling Prabowo Regarding Hasto’s Suspect Status

Jakarta -Rumors are circulating that the Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri, called the President of Indonesia and also the Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, regarding the designation of PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect.

In response to that, the Daily Chairperson of the DPP Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, denied it.”Not yet, not yet (Megawati called Prabowo)” said Dasco during an interview at the Nusantara III Building of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (13/1/2025).

He emphasized that the Hasto case is a matter for law enforcement, in this case, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“There are several parties who have asked similar questions, but in my opinion, the authority in law enforcement indeed lies with the KPK.” “So, whatever might be questioned or what happens today has certainly gone through the processes that take place there,” he explained.

“So if there are any questions, they have nothing to do with Mr. Prabowo or Gerindra,” he added.

As is known, the KPK has named PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect in the alleged bribery case involving the interim replacement process (PAW) of DPR members, which also implicates fugitive Harun Masiku.
