Menpora Reveals Progress on Ole Romeny’s Naturalization, Still Waiting for PSSI’s Submission

Jakarta Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo revealed the progress of the naturalization of Indonesia National Team striker candidate Ole Romeny.

He mentioned that his side is currently still waiting for the submission of documents for the player from PSSI as the national football federation.

For your information, Romeny has long been announced as the closest naturalization project by PSSI.

The new Oxford United player has already taken a photo with the General Chairman Erick Thohir and is expected to be an additional asset when the Indonesian National Team continues its struggle in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone.

However, with only two and a half months left, Ole Romeny has yet to attain Indonesian citizenship status. Dito Ariotedjo revealed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is still waiting for the submission of the naturalization documents from the player.

“Currently, there has not been (any submission of Ole Romeny’s naturalization documents),” said the Minister of Youth and Sports to the media in Jakarta, Wednesday (15/1/2025), as reported by Antara.

“So we are basically just waiting,” added the 34-year-old man.

Document Completion Stage

Nevertheless, Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo explained that Ole Romeny’s naturalization documents are already in the final stages of completion by the PSSI.

His naturalization has also been guaranteed by the federation, while the other two players, Jair Riedewald and Mitchel Bakker, are still in the process.

“What is guaranteed (for naturalization) is Ole (Romeny), the other two (Jairo Riedewald and Mietchel Bakker) are in process,” Dito said again, quoted from Antara.
