Bandung – The West Java Provincial Office for Women’s Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning (DP3AKB) is also providing assistance to N (23), a victim of sexual assault in the Cidadap area of Bandung City.
According to the Head of the West Java Provincial DP3AKB, Siska Gerfianti, her authority provides assistance to the victims through the West Java Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) in collaboration with the Bandung City PPA Unit.
“The handling of the victim has been carried out through UPTD PPA Jabar in collaboration with UPTD PPA Kota Bandung,” said Siska, as written on Saturday (11/1/2025).
Siska said that the assistance provided by UPTD PPA Jabar, namely health access services (visum et repertum), was on December 31, 2024.
Siska also mentioned that on January 2, 2025, an initial assessment and case identification were conducted, and on January 3, 2025, the UPTD PPA Jabar received a referral letter requesting assistance and an initial mental assessment of the victim from the PPA Unit of the West Java Police. Siska added that the follow-up handling plan includes an initial assessment of the victim’s mental state.
“This will be carried out by expert psychologists,” Siska said.
In addition, the UPTD PPA Jabar will also provide assistance with access to healthcare services for victims at the Garuda Health Center, Bandung City.
“The initial assessment of the victims’ mental state and access to healthcare services at Garuda Health Center will be conducted next week,” said Siska.
The victim, a female with hearing and speech disabilities, was found to be pregnant on Sunday (29/12/2024), last week, after her employer, who suspected something was amiss, took her to a midwife for an ultrasound examination.
“The ultrasound results show that N is 26 weeks pregnant.” The victim’s sister then reported the case to the West Java Police, on Monday (30/12/2024),” said Siska.
Based on the victim’s written confession, there were nine perpetrators. The victim was raped by the perpetrators by inviting the victim to a boarding house or hotel in the Lembang area, West Bandung Regency, and a hotel in Cimahi City.
Based on the victim’s account, she was raped by three perpetrators every day. The victim did not resist because she had another illness that caused her to forget instantly, as if nothing had happened to her.
