The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is once again delving into a corruption case related to the management of the national economic recovery fund (PEN) and the procurement of goods and services in the Situbondo Regency. Former Situbondo Regent Karna Suswandi was summoned by investigators today, January 16, 2025.
“The examination was conducted at the KPK Red and White Building in the name of KS (Karna Suswandi),” said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto in a written statement, Thursday (16/1).
Karna is a suspect in this case. Besides him, the KPK also summoned Eko Prionggo Jati, a civil servant at the Situbondo PUPR Office, today.
Tessa cannot yet detail the information to be extracted from the statements of those two people. They are expected to respond to the summons.

In the development of this case, the KPK is investigating the flow of funds to several officials in the PUPR Office of Situbondo Regency. The money received is suspected to fall under the category of gratification or bribery.
Based on the information gathered, the Regent of Situbondo, Karna Suswandi, holds the status of suspect in this case. This case has been investigated since August 6, 2024.
The alleged corruption occurred during the period from 2021 to 2024. Besides Karna, a state organizer with the initials EP also holds the status of a suspect in this case.
