Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) skipped the first pretrial hearing of PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto. According to Single Judge Djuyamto, the KPK has sent a letter and the hearing has been postponed until February 5, 2025.
In response to that, Hasto’s Legal Team, represented by Maqdir Ismail, expressed no surprise and granted the KPK time until they are ready to attend the upcoming trial.
“The KPK has not yet arrived, we hope that the trial will certainly be conducted in a marathon manner according to the existing regulations, we are given the opportunity to present witnesses and experts, as well as the KPK being given the opportunity or wanting to present witnesses and experts in this trial because for us what is important is whether the determination of the suspect is valid or not,” said Maqdir at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, (21/1/2025).
Maqdir explained that in the hearing that was canceled today, there were several corrections made by the Legal Team from Hasto Kristiyanto. However, those changes are not substantial and are merely editorial matters.

“This is actually more about non-substantial editorial corrections, because we do not want to withdraw the application and then re-register, as we are concerned that if we do that, it will involve a summons process that takes a long time. Therefore, we earlier conveyed to the chief judge to grant permission for us to make corrections, and our corrections do not involve renvoi but only provide the corrections we have identified that need to be made,” explained Maqdir.
Previously reported, the South Jakarta District Court postponed the first pretrial hearing of PDIP Secretary-General, Hasto Kristiyanto, against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Tuesday (21/1). According to Single Judge Djuyamto, the KPK requested a postponement through an official letter dated January 16, 2025.
“The respondent (KPK) has not appeared today; we received a letter requesting a postponement of the hearing on January 16 after the respondent was summoned to court to appear today. Please allow the petitioner’s representative to review the letter.”
“This is an official letter from the respondent requesting a postponement,” said Djuyamto at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday (21/1/2025).
