Jakarta The General Treasurer of the DPP Democratic Party, Renville Antonio, passed away after a traffic accident on the northern coastal road in Mojosari Village, Asembagus District, Situbondo, East Java, on Friday (24/02/2023).
The tragic incident occurred around 09:00 AM WIB. Renville, riding a black big motorcycle with license plate B-6789-A, was heading from Surabaya to Banyuwangi. When passing through the scene, the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck traveling in the same direction.
“The accident involving a big motorcycle (moge) occurred around 09:00 AM WIB this morning,” said Situbondo Police Chief AKBP Rezi Dharmawan as quoted by Antara.
Based on the results of the crime scene investigation (TKP), it is suspected that the motorcycle ridden by Renville was traveling at high speed. Meanwhile, the pickup truck is suspected of wanting to turn right on the road. As a result, the accident was unavoidable.
Due to the severe impact, Renville was thrown 100-200 meters from the accident site and crashed into a tree on the edge of the northern coastal highway. He died at the scene of the accident. His body was then taken to Asembagus Hospital.
“The victim of the big motorcycle rider died at the scene, and has now been taken to Asembagus Hospital,” said AKBP Rezi Dharmawan.
The driver of the pickup truck is currently being questioned by the Situbondo Police Traffic Unit officers at the Asembagus Police Station.
