Jakarta – The Chairman of the Central Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), Yahya Cholil Staquf, stated that they have formed an acceleration task force (Satgas) to contribute to the free nutritious meal program (MBG). According to him, this task force will identify points that can be used as MBG kitchens, especially in Islamic boarding schools.
“I have met with the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, and PBNU has formed a special task force for the acceleration of NU’s contribution to this Free Nutritious Meal program, and they have already started working to identify points that can be turned into service centers, namely kitchens for free nutritious meals, especially in Islamic boarding schools,” said Gus Yahya at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Monday (3/2/2025).
He admitted that he had reported to President Prabowo Subianto regarding the formation of a task force to assist the MBG program. Yahya mentioned that Prabowo encouraged the free nutritious meal program to reach all beneficiaries.
“Because he also has very progressive targets, and I think we feel obligated to help as much as possible so that those targets can be achieved,” he said.

Gus Yahya stated that there are 5 million santri who are the target recipients of the flagship free nutritious meal program of the Prabowo-Gibran administration. He stated that PBNU is ready to help ensure that all students can receive free nutritious meals.
“We were informed by the head of BGN that all 5 million are included in the target of this MBG program, so that nothing is missed,” he said.
“Therefore, our task now with the network we have is to identify where the points that can become the placement sites for service centers or kitchens for the MBG are,” continued Gus Yahya.
