Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto today, Monday, February 17, 2025. He was summoned in his capacity as a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the interim replacement (PAW) of DPR members and obstruction of investigation.
“Indeed, Mr. HK (Hasto Kristiyanto) has been summoned today in his capacity as a suspect,” said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto in a written statement on Monday, February 17, 2025. Hasto’s lawyer, Ronny Talapessy, said that his client had received a summons letter from the KPK. However, they plan to request a postponement of the examination. “We will send a letter requesting a postponement of the examination,” said Ronny.
According to him, Hasto filed two pretrial motions in this case at the South Jakarta District Court. Ronny believes that the KPK should postpone the investigation until the second pretrial hearing is concluded. “This effort is made so that the court conducts a substantive examination of our pretrial case that has not been addressed in the ruling,” said Ronny.
Previously, the KPK revealed the existence of 400 million IDR in funds to bribe Wahyu Setiawan from Hasto. The money was handed over through Hasto’s staff, Kusnadi. “Kusnadi entrusted the money wrapped in a brown envelope, which was placed inside a black backpack,” said Acting Head of the KPK Legal Bureau Iskandar at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday, February 6, 2025. Iskandar said that the money from Hasto was referred to as operational funds for processing the PAW of DPR members for Harun Masiku. The most wanted fugitive prepared Rp600 million to bribe Wahyu.
“And (Kusnadi) said, ‘Sir, there is an order from the Secretary-General (Hasto) to hand over operational funds of Rp400 million to Mr. Saeful, and Rp600 million to Harun,'” said Iskandar. The money was handed over in the Meeting Room of the DPP PDIP Office on Jalan Diponegoro, Central Jakarta. The funds from Hasto were received by Advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is also handling the bribery case in the PAW process for Harun.
