The Discourse of a Permanent Coalition, PDIP Reminds That Politics is Very Dynamic

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto proposed the idea of a permanent coalition at the peak event of the 17th anniversary of Gerindra. Chairman of the DPP of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Djarot Syaiful Hidayat, believes that the idea of a permanent KIM will be tested by time.
“We will see whether all the parties are consistent, four years from now, in supporting Prabowo in the 2029 presidential election,” said Djarot when confirmed, Monday (17/2/2025).
Because, Djarot said, politics is very dynamic, so the political direction can change quickly and suddenly
“Politics is very dynamic, and we leave it to the people who have the highest sovereignty,” he said.

When asked whether the permanent coalition would prevent other presidential candidates from competing in the 2029 presidential election, Djarot stated that it was impossible for that to happen. “It is almost impossible for the presidential election to only have a single candidate,” he said.
Meanwhile, PDIP politician Andreas Hugo Pareira stated that Prabowo’s proposal is perfectly acceptable. “Any proposal is fine.” It depends on the parties that are in the group that calls itself the coalition,” said Andreas.

Previously, the discourse of a permanent coalition emerged after a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Friday, February 14, 2025. Until the peak of the 17th Anniversary or HUT of Gerindra, several party figures are still discussing the matter.
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, who is also the Chairman of Golkar, Bahlil Lahadalia, conveyed that the special gift on Gerindra’s anniversary is full support from his party for Prabowo.
“In this coalition, which was recently echoed or initiated by President Prabowo for a permanent coalition with more than 80 percent of the seats.” “I think this is a good strategy to strengthen support for Golden Indonesia,” said Bahlil at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor, West Java, Saturday (15/2/2025).
