Razman Nasution Insists on Practicing as a Lawyer Despite BAS Advocates Being Suspended by the Supreme Court, How Can This Be?

Jakarta Vadel Badjideh’s legal counsel, Razman Nasution, issued a statement after the Supreme Court or MA suspended the Oath of Office Minutes (BAS) of his lawyer last week.
This revocation is due to Razman Nasution’s outburst in the North Jakarta District Court during the defamation case against Hotman Paris. He is a suspect in this case.
Antara reported on Thursday (13/2/2025) that the suspension of BAS Razman Nasution was based on the Decree of the Chief Justice of the Ambon High Court Number 44/KPT.W27-U/HM.1.1.1/II/2025.
“With the suspension of the advocate oath minutes in the names of Razman Arif Nasution and M. Firdaus Oiwobo, they are no longer able to practice as advocates in court,” said MA Spokesperson, Yanto, in Jakarta, Thursday (13/2/2025).

Advocate’s Oath Suspended

Now, through his verified Instagram account, on Monday (February 17, 2025), Razman Nasution uploaded a screenshot of an online media headline titled, “Advocate Oath Frozen by the Supreme Court, Razman Arif Nasution: DPN Peradi Bersatu’s Decision is My Reference.”
Accompanying the post, he wrote, “Amidst the uproar of news about the Suspension of the Oath Report (BAS) of DR. RAN by the Ambon High Court, on this occasion DR. RAN emphasizes…”

Which Becomes the Reference

“That the reference for DR. RAN is the Decision of the Ethics Council of DPN Peradi Bersatu where DR. RAN and Mr. Lechumanan, SH, MH were given a severe reprimand both verbally and in writing and not dismissal as advocates,” he tweeted.
Not stopping there, Razman Nasution insisted that he would continue to carry out his duties as an advocate well. He also mentioned the existence of individuals who want to tarnish his reputation.
