Jakarta – Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan, Megawati Soekarnoputri, warned the elected Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 2025-2029 period, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, who will be inaugurated, not to ignore the directives from President Prabowo Subianto in carrying out their duties.
“Yesterday, Mrs. Megawati conveyed that the governor is also a representative of the central government, so do not ignore the President’s directives.” “That is the main task,” said Rano in Jakarta, Thursday, (20/2/2025).
Before attending the inauguration at the Presidential Palace, Rano revealed that he had participated in a briefing from Megawati. On that occasion, the implementation of the campaign promises related to the future governance plans in Jakarta was also discussed.
“Although Jakarta has its own program, the central government’s program must be monitored until completion,” he added as quoted by Antara.
The inauguration ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday was attended by 961 regional heads, consisting of 33 governors and deputy governors, 363 regents, 362 deputy regents, and 85 mayors and deputy mayors. This inauguration was directly led by President Prabowo Subianto, who administered the oath of office to the elected regional heads.
This simultaneous inauguration marks a historic moment that signifies the government’s commitment to creating a more effective, efficient, transparent, and public service-focused regional administration.
After being inaugurated, the regional heads will attend a retreat or briefing at the Military Academy (Akmil), Magelang, Central Java, which will take place from February 21 to 28, 2025. This program aims to strengthen the capabilities and synergy between the central and regional governments in implementing strategic policies.
