Jakarta – Deputy Head of the Hajj Organizing Agency, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, emphasized that President-elect Prabowo Subianto is not a “puppet” of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo or Jokowi.
This was conveyed by Dahnil via the social media account X (formerly Twitter) @Dahnilanzar, responding to the narrative that stated Jokowi’s strong influence on Prabowo.
“This morning I want to tell you a little about the leadership characteristics of Mr. Prabowo that I know, after seven years as his spokesperson. Because lately there have been many who have been heating up that he is Mr. Jokowi’s puppet, and I assure you that will never happen,” wrote Dahnil, quoted on Wednesday (7/5/2025).
According to him, Prabowo is a leader who pays attention to the welfare of his staff and the people who help him. Prabowo’s main focus in internal discussions also discusses the fate of the poor.
“Mr. Prabowo cares about the welfare of the people who work and help him. Discussions with him are not far from the difficulties of the poorest people, so he always says that in the midst of your economic ease, work for the people who are most economically disadvantaged,” said the former spokesman for Prabowo when he was still the Minister of Defense.
Dahnil also assessed Prabowo as a figure who upholds the dignity of senior figures and is loyal to his subordinates. He said that Prabowo is not a person who is easily provoked by negative stories from outside.
“Mr. Prabowo will maintain the dignity of the senior figures he respects, as well as the honor of his subordinates who work loyally to help him. Not easily provoked by bad stories from outside,” he said.
