Prabowo Receives Visit from Bill Gates at Merdeka Palace This Morning

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto will receive a visit from world figure and founder of the Gates Foundation, Bill Gates at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (7/5/2025). One of the things that will be discussed is the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

“The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto this morning, Wednesday, May 7, 2025. at around 08.00 WIB is scheduled to receive a visit from world philanthropist and founder of the Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta,” said Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana to reporters, Wednesday (7/5/2025).

Prabowo and Bill Gates are scheduled to hold a meeting at Merdeka Palace to discuss a number of sustainable development initiatives. In particular, issues of global health, nutrition, financial inclusion, and public digital infrastructure.

Previously, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, announced the planned arrival of a world figure and one of the richest people in the world, Bill Gates, to Indonesia on May 7, 2025. Gates’ arrival is said to discuss the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

In his statement, Prabowo said that Bill Gates had long submitted a request to meet, even since November 2024. The meeting is expected to highlight support and appreciation for the nutritious meal program that is being intensified by the government.

“On May 7, 2025, the day after tomorrow, a world figure named Bill Gates will come to us. I have been asking to meet for quite some time, he asked to meet. If I’m not mistaken, the letter was from this November,” said Prabowo in his statement, quoted from Liputan6 SCTV, Tuesday (6/5/2025).

Achievements Not Yet Fully Achieved

President Prabowo Subianto again directly reviewed the implementation of the free nutritious meal (MBG) program in schools, Monday (10/2/2025). (Presidential Press Bureau).

Although proud of the world’s attention to this program, Prabowo still emphasized that the achievement has not been fully achieved. He said that success can only be assessed after the target of distributing nutritious food is achieved to more than 82 million people by the end of the year.

“We will succeed, God willing, in December 2025. If we prove that we can deliver food every day to 82.9 million people in a clean, safe, nutritious condition, that’s when we can accept congratulations,” he said.

Prabowo also said that regardless of support or awards from outside parties, the government remains committed to implementing the program because it believes in the importance of investing in future generations and poverty alleviation efforts.
