Salary Increase, Prabowo Asks Teachers to ‘Applaud’ Sri Mulyani

President Prabowo Subianto officially announced the salary increase for ASN and non-ASN or honorary teachers yesterday, during the peak of the 2024 National Teacher’s Day celebration, Thursday (28/11/2024).
Prabowo increased the salaries of teachers with ASN status by one month’s salary starting in 2025. Meanwhile, non-ASN teachers will receive an increase in professional allowances or through certification to Rp 2 million per month.

Prabowo is proud that he, having just been in office for a month, has already succeeded in improving the welfare of teachers in Indonesia. He also expressed great appreciation to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati for being able to manage the state’s finances to improve the welfare of teachers. Prabowo also invited the teachers to applaud.


“I can convey that even though we have only been in power for one month, we announced that we can improve the welfare of teachers. “That’s why I understand why, the loudest applause for the Minister of Finance,” Prabowo said.
Regarding this salary increase policy, Prabowo revealed that his administration is raising the teacher welfare budget to Rp 16.7 trillion in 2025, bringing the total teacher welfare budget to Rp 81.6 trillion next year.

The Minister of Finance revealed that the state budget (APBN) is indeed focused on education. One of the ways is through the improvement of teacher welfare by increasing the budget allocation to Rp 81.6 trillion.

“Additionally, to improve the quality and equitable distribution of educational services, data shows that Rp 17.15 trillion has been allocated for the rehabilitation and improvement of 10,440 public and private schools in 2025,” said Sri Mulyani.

Efforts to improve the welfare and quality of teachers will not stop here, Sri Mulyani assured that the Ministry of Finance will continue to support all good intentions in enhancing the quality of education in Indonesia.
